Unit 7 is assessed internally based on your portfolio work. During this unit, students are encouraged to explore health as a lifestyle choice for individuals at all life-stages by focussing on a person’s height and weight and assessing it against the average depending on their age. You will study the nutritional value of food, the dietary requirements of individuals throughout their various life-stages and about current dietary guidelines.
You will also investigate the way that exercise can have a positive effect on a person during different life-stages. You will explore different types of physical activity and the way they can affect the physical, mental and social health of individuals and the concepts involved in devising an appropriate exercise programme for an individual.
